Fees
Retailer Fees
As a retailer, you have the flexibility to add your own fees on top of the ticket prices sourced from the Distribusion API. These are commonly referred to as mark-ups or service fees and are defined and controlled entirely by you.
The most important requirement when adding these fees is transparency. All retailer-added fees must be clearly differentiated from the original carrier offering and price. This means they should be displayed as a separate line item to the customer, for example, on the checkout page. Clearly showing the base ticket price versus the additional service fee builds trust and ensures clarity for the end user.
The calculation and application of these fees are handled by your system. Your integration is responsible for adding your fee to the total price received from our API and charging the final combined amount to the customer.
Carrier & Distribusion Fees
In contrast to retailer-added fees, there are other fees that may originate directly from carriers or from your specific agreement with Distribusion. It's important to understand how each of these is handled, as some are already included in the prices you receive from the API, while others may need to be calculated and added separately.
- Booking Fees: These fees are set by the some of the carriers and are always already included in the price you get from Distribusion.
- Markup Fees: These fees might be set by Distribusion for your account (depending on your agreement) and are not included in the price you get from Distribusion.
- Convenience Fees: These fees are set by the some of the carriers and are always already included in the price you get from Distribusion.
